I bought this mostly because the auto mode was supposed to make things easier, but in real use it just doesn’t really deliver. Half the time the air feels stale or bad and the fan just sits on low like nothing’s happening. For the price, I expected it to actually respond the way they make it sound like it will...

I’ve had my Alen purifier for a few weeks now, and overall it does what it’s supposed to do. The fan speeds all work fine, but the jump from low to medium feels a bit off. Low is really quiet, which is nice, but it also feels a little too gentle unless the room is already clean.

Medium is where I expected to use it most, but it’s louder than I figured it would be. High definitely moves air well, but like you’d assume, it’s not something I want running all the time because of the noise. It’s not a bad purifier by any means, I just think the fan settings could be spaced out better.

Bottom line, I don’t think the smart features are worth it. The WiFi keeps dropping, and when it does connect, the app is painfully slow. I expected a lot better for the price, but most of the “smart” stuff has just been frustrating to use.

I bought this because I thought it would be quiet enough to run while I sleep, but it’s not. Even on the lower setting, I can still hear it all night, and I kept wondering if I was being too picky or if other people would find it distracting too.
The higher speeds are even worse. It sounds like a fan working way too hard in the corner, and it makes it hard to relax or watch TV unless I turn the volume up. That doesn’t really feel ideal for something I expected to be more calming in a bedroom.
Maybe it does clean the air well, I can’t really say for sure, but the noise level is just too much for me. For the price, I expected something quieter, and I’m a little disappointed.

I figured warranty help would be straightforward, but it kind of followed the usual pattern of slow replies and then being asked for more details. It did get sorted out in the end, so I’ll give them that, but the back and forth made it feel like way more of a hassle than it needed to be.

I was hoping this would help because I’d seen others mention good results, but it didn’t cut down the dust at all for me. I’m still seeing dust everywhere, so I’m wondering if I’m missing something or if other people had the same experience.

The filter got here dented, the box was in rough shape. It was soaked, torn up, and looked like it had been through a lot before it even reached me.

I did get the Alen unit up and running eventually, but the setup was more annoying than I thought it would be. The filters also add up and get expensive, which makes it even more frustrating. For the price, I expected way better results. Save your time if smoke odor is your main issue

I went on alen.com just trying to buy a replacement filter, it was way more frustrating than I expected. The menus didn’t feel clear, and I kept ending up clicking around in circles like, where am I supposed to go??
Checkout wasn’t much better for me either. Pages were loading slowly, and I couldn’t really tell if I had the right item in my cart. After a while I just gave up, which is annoying when I was only trying to buy one simple thing??

The purifier itself works fine, but the filter life has been disappointing. Mine needed to be replaced much sooner than I expected, and the replacement filters aren’t exactly cheap. For what this thing costs, I really thought it would last longer. Customer support gave me one of those canned “sorry for the inconvenience” replies too, which just made it more annoying.
